Setting Your Scholar Preferences

Google Scholar can be used to help you search for scholarly literature available to you through AU Library. To ensure that you have access to these materials, follow the directions below:

  • Google Scholar
    Begin at the main Google Scholar page
  • Click on the "Settings" link
    You'll find it in the upper right corner
  • Select "Library Links"
    The third link listed on the left side of the page
  • Search for "American University"
    Use the search box to find our library
  • Check the correct box
    Make sure that you select "American University - Full Text at American U" and "Open WorldCat - Library Search"
  • Click Save
    You're now ready to start using Google Scholar to find and access AU Library materials!
