ARTS-240 Artist's Perspective: Printmaking Professor Sarah Dolan

Strategy for Finding Information on an Emerging Artist

1.  Before artists are written about by scholars or collected by museums, the gallery that shows their work is a primary distributor of information about them.  Google your artist and try to find the gallery associated with them.  Of course, also look for the artist's website.

2.  See if the gallery website has a publication list or bibliography--try to find any publications in AU Library Search or Worldcat.  Be prepared to request a few Interlibrary Loans.

3.  Search a newspaper database like Nexis Uni for interviews, exhibition reviews, and other articles.
