For your class projects, one of the first steps is to identify a technology, and I've flagged some resources to help with this in the Class Project - Finding a Technology and Making It Specific Tab. You may also want to learn more about your client, which you can do by using the resources listed under Industry Research and Company Research.
Both the class projects and tech debates require that you use reliable sources, such as newspapers, magazines and journals, which you can find listed under the Newspapers, Magazines, and Journals tab.
