A relatively new tool offered by the AU Library, SearchBox has a Google-like interface and allows users to search AU's catalog and (most of its) databases simultaneously. Useful for highly specific searches -- but can be overwhelming if you aren't used to using multiple limits and filters.

A popular online NYT feature, each topic link brings together related news articles, reference and archival information, photos, graphics, audio, and video files. Content available for post-1981 articles and media only.
A perennial favorite for quick & dirty searches, this community-edited encyclopedia is useful for browsing, but lacks authority. Use, but check your facts!
