Makerspace

Introduction

3D creation allows users to create a physical object from a digital model. The library's Makerspace provides the tools necessary to complete your project, including the software to design the project, resources to finding an already designed open access file, a scanner to reproduce a physical item, and 3D printers to print your designs.

Procedures

First time visitors to the library's makerspace will be asked to take a short orientation online and each subsequent visit will be asked to check in to the 3D Production workbench.

Files for 3D printing must be submitted online using our 3D printing request form. Files should be formatted as .STLs. Please plan ahead as prints can take anywhere from a few hours to multiple days, and a printing queue may form. 3D prints are charged a base printing fee of $4 plus $0.05 per gram of material.

Examples of Projects
