The Craft Fabrication Workbench is a community of creativity and a DIY (do-it-yourself) mentality. It is the only workbench where your final project is created by manually transforming materials into a complete new item and where creation and design is all in one.
First time visitors to the library's Makerspace will be asked to take a short orientation online and each subsequent visit will be asked to check in to the Craft Fabrication workbench. All tools and materials are for use by current AU students, faculty and staff only and are to be used within the Makerspace during open hours.
The manual and power tools are available for checkout as a 3 day loan. Patrons will receive basic instruction on how to use the equipment and will be asked to sign an equipment circulation policy waiver. Staff will also spend time reviewing each component of the equipment with the patron to ensure that upon return everything is together
