How to Clear Chrome

Note that when you follow these steps, your history and saved passwords will be preserved.

It is critical that after clearing the data, you quit Chrome. On a Mac that means to press Cmd+Q or click on Chrome in the menu bar and click Quit Chrome. In Windows or on a Chromebook, that means click the 'X' at the top right of the browser window.

Start by clicking the vertical ellipses and selecting 'Delete Browsing Data...':

Then select 'Advanced', 'All time', then select 'Cookies and other site data' and 'Cached images and files':

Scroll down, select 'Site settings' and 'Hosted app data', click 'Clear data', then finally quit Chrome:

! IMPORTANT! To quit your browser:

On a Mac, go to the menu at the top of your screen, click on 'Chrome' then select 'Quit Chrome'

In Windows, go to the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, right click on the Chrome icon then select 'X Close window' or 'X Close all windows'.
