  • Council for Exceptional Children
    “CEC is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides professional development, advocates for individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.”
  • National Association of Special Education Teachers
    NASET is a national membership organization dedicated to rendering support and assistance to those preparing for or teaching in the field of special education. It promotes the profession of special education teachers and provides a national forum for their ideas.
  • National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities
    Funded by the Office of Special Education Programs and operated by the Academy of Educational Development, NICHCY provides information on infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities, on IDEA, the law authorizing special education, the No Child Left Behind Program, and research-based educational practices.
  • Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services
    Sponsored by the US Department of Education, OSERS provides supports to parents and individuals, school districts and states in three main areas: education, vocational rehabilitation, and research.
