Acquisitions Procedures: Music

Approval Plans

AU Library has a Music Approval plans with Arkiv and J.W. Pepper. For Arkiv orders, we receive a spreadsheet of recommended titles monthly & it is reviewed by the Music Librarian. Approved titles are shipped to us for reciept. For J.W. Pepper orders, Books are shipped to us and are held for the Music Librairan's approval. Approved books are received and rejected books sent back.

Scores

Our main vendors for scores are J.W. Pepper and Hal Leonard as they accept purchase orders.

Sheetmusic Plus is also used regularly although they only accept credit card orders.

Other vendors that we use off and on are Theodore Front, Theodore Presser and Boosey & Hawkes.

CDs

Our main music vendor for CDs is ArkivMusic.  If a recording is out of print (OP), then items are searched for on Amazon for a used copy that needs to be New, Like New or Very Good.

Music Ordering

Music Orders for scores and CDs are received from the Music Librarian. Music book orders are placed in the usual way as regular books.   Orders for scores and CDs are received throughout the year.
