Browzine: Getting Journal Table of Contents on your iPad or Android Tablet

The Browzine app allows you to browse thousands of scholarly journals. You can create a personal bookshelf of favorite titles. You can be alerted when new articles are available in your favorite journals. Save articles for offline reading. Easily export to Zotero, Mendeley, Dropbox and other services. BrowZine is available for free download from the App Store or Google Play Store. Once downloaded, select American University and login with your credentials.

Use these aggregators to get table of contents alerts for specific journals.

Academic Search Premier This link opens in a new window
Select "Publications" and "Share". Activate an email alert to be sent the table of contents of new issues of a journal. You must be signed into your MyEBSCO account to activate a TOC alert. Keep in mind that your EBSCO username and password are not affiliated with AU. If you have issues with your username and/or password, you will need to contact EBSCO directly.

Select Browse by Title and locate a relevant journal. On the right side of the screen, under the title "Journal Tracking" select "Receive updates by email (eTOC)".

Create a publication alert in Proquest Central to alert you via email when new issues are published of a particular publication.Sign in to My Research to manage your alerts. Keep in mind that your Proquest username and password are not affiliated with AU. If you have issues with your username and/or password, you will need to contact Proquest directly.

PubMed
Run an Advanced Search for the Journal title. Click Save Search and create email alerts for new issues of the journal. You must sign in to MyNCBI account.

Select Journals and "Subscribe to new volume alerts". You will be prompted to create an account in Science Direct. Select "Alert Type: Table of Contents" and "Save Alert".

Create an account and log in. Select "My Tools" and "Saved Searches and Alerts". Click the "Journal Alerts" tab and "Add Journal". You will receive e-mail alerts of the latest Table of Contents for your selected journals.

Table of Contents Alerts for Specific Journals and Magazines

You can often receive notification of the latest table of contents through an aggregated database vendor such as EBSCOhost. You can also get issue alerts through publisher sites.
