When commercial towing vehicle Nostromo, heading back to Earth, intercepts an SoS signal from a nearby planet, the crew are under obligation to investigate. The film's iconic final line, a shocking and memorable pun, was an addition to the screenplay that Ellison hated. The film won the 1976 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation.
