  • Send it to your county board of elections: County BOE Information (ncsbe.gov)
• Previously incarcerated people must have had their rights restored

Requesting a Ballot

• There is “no excuse” absentee ballot voting.

Voting

• On the ballot you must have two signed witnesses or a notary public. If you are a member of the AU Community, you can contact Gwendolyn Reece (greece@american.edu) to set up an appointment and have your ballot notarized.  You must sign IN FRONT of your witnesses/notary.
• You must include a copy of an acceptable state ID with your ballot: Voter ID | NCSBE
